Jeri/Jerry Jackfield is an up and coming star. In fact, they are kind of the same star. (Bear with us.) Having just spent months working alongside rising name Toni Healy on what is set to be the biggest film of next summer, they cannot wait to meet their closest friends and spill everything. But what exactly happened on that set, and more importantly, how will it be perceived?
In a Sliding Doors style narrative, both Jeri and Jerry exist in parallel timelines, each recounting the same experiences from their perspective. In both versions, they are simultaneously the pursuer and the pursued, navigating identical situations that unfold in subtly different ways. Across one evening catch up, their story is retold to two separate friendship groups.
Using the same locations, dialogue, and sequence of events, the film jumps between these parallel narratives, revealing how each group interprets the story in dramatically different ways. Reactions spiral, assumptions form, and meanings shift, despite nothing fundamentally changing in what was said or done.
This 15 minute short explores the fragility of truth and the power of perception, highlighting how easily a narrative can evolve depending on who is listening. Because in the end, it is not always what you say or do, but how others choose to see it.
