Curator’s note

Stories that keep a thread hanging.

A good mystery does not rush to explain itself. It hands you a question, a stranger at the table, a video with a message that changes everything, a part-time job that turns deadly, and lets you sit with it. These films keep that patience, and some of them leave a thread hanging on purpose.

It opens with Little Games, where a little girl reveals her sinister plan to a stranger, and moves through a psychic at a homicide scene, a date who is not what he seemed and a woman gaslit by her own wellbeing hub. Watch them in order, or start with the one you cannot shake.

Frequently asked

What makes a short film a mystery?

The question comes first. Something is hidden, wrong or unexplained, and the film lets you work it out alongside the characters. Because a short has no time to spare, the reveal tends to land hard, or not at all, and both can be the point.

Are these films free to watch?

Yes. Every film in this collection plays in full on Klipist, with no subscription and no sign-up.

How long are they?

They run from a few minutes to just under half an hour, and each one is a complete film rather than an extract from something longer.
